First 5k

First ever 5km park run completed in 34.07 - delighted to have run the whole way (no walking), to be less than 35 mins and bonus - I wasn't last :)

Now I have my benchmark it's onwards and upwards!!

Back to training on mon pm - now I know I can get round, need to focus on improving the speed ;)

Progress...

Well I am so pleased after our wee run on Wednesday night - did over 5km and ok we walked a bit but I was able to run a lot more than I had thought. So today I went out again. This time I had M and E with me in the buggy and did a 3.5km power walk with a bit of running. Boy was it hard with the buggy, a 3.5 year old and a 20 monther! The main thing is that I am motivated and did not use the excuse of having no childcare to go out. Will take a break over the weekend and them go out Monday at some point :)

Phone blog post

Just a quick trial to see how this goes from my phone.
So DH completed the London Marathon last Sunday. What a brilliant atmosphere and event to be involved in. I am so proud of him for doing it, even with an injury. Anyway, as a result of this I really want to get out running again. It has been about 5 years (pre-children) so I have no idea how fit I am and how fast/long I will be able to run for. My friend RG and I are going out this evening to have a wee go. She is planning a route of about 3 miles! I reckon I will be able to walk most of this with a few spurts of running in between. I am really excited about donning the trainers again and I really hope I can stick to it. There's a Race for Life at Stormont at the end of May so I think we will enter that. Will post later how I get on.....
The reason I am going to try blogging again, is to try to record my achievements, thoughts and plans. I am 35 next year and I feel each year of my life is going so fast, especially since having kids. I love being a housewife,  I rarely have a tidy house, I hate cleaning the bathrooms and have an obsession with all things knitting and sewing but I do feel privileged to be able to be at home with my 3 children when they are young. It is definitely the best, but hardest job in the world!
